Seven years since the monsoon

Yes finally something fun to write about :)

A Song Translation Special:
How I see...

Durch Den Monsun

Where were you seven years ago on August 15h?  When four young boys took to their instruments and released a song that captured a nation, and soon after the world? Before we checked in as Residents of Humanoid City? Before we were transformed into the Aliens?

Yes seven years ago was the debut to Tokio Hotel's "Durch Den Monsun" Where a young Bill Kaulitz let his voice cascade down measures guided by dark but beautiful music made by his brother Tom, Bassist Georg and pulled together by their quiet drummer Gustav.

I'm not a genius when it comes to the actual English meaning of the song. But from what I've read in translations made by the thoughtful Aliens. The song painted a different picture for me. Nothing like the English version of the song. "Monsoon" Some time later.

It it seems as if the mental setting is someone coming in on a empty room, I'm assuming the room being his state of mind, or heart even his soul. Searching for that one who was meant to occupy it forever. Only to see a candle flickering, the burning out.

As if symbolizing the one he thought would stay. Went away. And he goes on hoplessly serenading who ever might be listening that he's been waiting forever. And no matter how close he comes to what could be the end, it seems there is just a greater extension in distance.

Then he continues to mentally prepare himself that he may have to run through a mess of chaos and lies, false faces and sinful hearts. A monsoon of sorts, balancing on the edges of nothingness. He holds on to the thought of finding the light of that flame and the person who holds it. And continuing his journey though life with her. Because he knows his problems are bad, sometimes often terrible. But if he has her to go through them with, then it's worth it.

He goes on to think about the moon, and wonders if she sees it too. Will the moon keep it's promise of using it's neon beams to guide him through the darkest of nights to find her?
Confidence builds, as he knows he hears her name through all of the pain.
Yet doubt flows in, wondering if it's true or just echos of the wind and rain?

My favorite part of the song...after he screams Hey! as if calling to her from behind a door. Swearing as the music builds that he will fight her from the other side. For maybe once he has found her...she may not be so willing to be with him completely? He swears he will force his way through what ever he has to just to feel her in his arms. Then everything, will be good. The eye of the storm reached. He's holding her now. and All is good.

And when storms rage again, they will run together. Everything will be good. Because now they have each other. Though the monsoon....

Psst. Bill when you feel you have found her...don't let her go. Trust me, I know these things ;)

In closing

Seven years ago this song threw its self into the hearts of Tokio Hotel fans, and there it stays. We each have our own favorite songs of the band, and reasons. But the intriguing thing about this particular one. Is that we can all agree it's probably one of the most visual and beautiful in meaning.

So there you have it, a special song translation of Durch Den  Monsun....

Hope you all enjoyed it <3
Sorry it was late! I really wanted time to think about it!
